    Psychological counseling is a safe, confidential space where students can talk to a trained professional about emotional, psychological, or academic challenges they may be facing. The goal is to support mental well-being and personal growth.
  • Who can attend counseling sessions?
    Counseling services are available to all members of the UIU community, especially students.
  • What issues can I talk about in counseling?
    You can talk about anything that’s hampering your well-being, such as: 1. Academic pressure 2. Difficulty concentrating 3. Distressing thoughts & behaviors 4. Trauma and crisis support 5. Relationship or family issues 6. Loneliness or homesickness 7. Any other personal challenges
  • Is counseling confidential?
    Yes. All counseling sessions are confidential. Information is not shared without your written consent, except in cases of: 1. Risk of harm to self or others 2. Suspected abuse or neglect 3. Court orders or other legal issues
  • How many sessions can I attend?
    You can attend multiple sessions based on your needs. The counselor will discuss a suitable plan with you during the initial meeting. Typically it takes 6-10 sessions to deal with any kind of psychological challenges.
  • What if I’m not sure I need counseling?
    That’s okay! You can attend a session to explore your current emotional state and take part in a brief mental health assessment.
  • Is there a fee for counseling?
    Yes, the client needs to pay Fifty taka for each session.
  • How do I make an appointment?
    You can make appointment by visit "BOOK APPOINTMENT" menu and follow the instruction given the webpage step by step.
  • How long is a session?
    Each session usually lasts around 50 to 60 minutes.
  • Will attending counseling affect my academic record?
    Not at all. Counseling is completely separate from academic records and will not impact your grades, standing, or reports in any way.
  • What should I expect during my first visit?
    The first session is typically an intake session, where you’ll discuss your concerns, history, and goals. Together, you and the counselor will decide on the best course of action.
  • Can I choose my counselor?
    Yes. You view counsellor details by "View Details" menu of each counsellor and can select counsellor during make appointment through the website.
  • What if I need help outside of office hours?
    If you are experiencing a crisis outside of regular hours: 1. Contact the mental health and psychological Counseling center phone number 2. Contact local emergency services
  • What types of services are offered?
